Labor Day Weekend was highlighted in Covington by the annual Fort Rowdy Gathering, operated by the Covington-Newberry Historical Society and local businesses and organizations.
The history of Covington began when General “Mad” Anthony Wayne had a fort built near the Stillwater River. The fort was dubbed “Fort Rowdy” in reference the the conduct of the soldiers that were stationed there.
The Fort Rowdy Festival honors this history with live music, food and artifacts from years passed.
