Several upgrades have been made over the years thanks to the generosity of local organizations and individuals. For example, upgrades to the playground equipment were made in 2010 thanks to a donation from the Covington Community Chest.
The Covington Community Park has also been the home of the annual Fort Rowdy celebration that takes place at the conclusion of every summer.

PARK BASEBALL COMPLEX:
The two ball diamonds are furnished with lighting, sheltered dugouts, protective fencing, sand infields and grass outfields. There is an enclosed batting cage, along with two storage sheds for equipment and maintenance equipment. The complex has been utilized for generations by the Covington Youth Baseball and Softball Association, as well as by the Covington Little Buccs for practice.
